Introducing a collection of Cree dual language books created by educators of childcare centres in the Eeyou Istchee Territory of Northern Quebec for pre-schoolers.
Written in Cree, Syllabics and English, each book was developed to support language development, positive identity formation and promote culture in Cree childcare centres.
The vibrant illustrations and interesting stories portray authentic Cree communities, culture and lifestyles. They serve as an important diversity tool, dispelling stereotypes and promoting meaningful multicultural awareness, respect and understanding in mainstream child care environments.
