Puvirnituq Community

Puvirnituq meaning "place where there is a smell of rotten meat" is an Inuit community located on the coast of the Hudson Bay in Nunavik, northern Quebec. It has a population of 1,692 and is the transportation hub of the Hudson coast.

Carvings from Puvirnituq are mostly inspired by cultural lifestyle and spirit world. Internationally acclaimed carvers from Puvirnituq include Daniel Inukpuk, Aisa Amittuk and Moses Aupaluktuk.
